DraftCraft Board Game

You're a small, hungry mouse starting out on the street, and the cheese is all the way past the kitchen. Reach it once and you'll loop right back around — collect 5 pieces of cheese before anyone else and you win. Shadow is watching the whole way.

How It Works

Simple to pick up: roll the dice, see where you land. Luck does most of the work — your only real call is which route to take near the start.

1
Player
Pick Your Mouse
Choose your avatar and name. Add AI rivals — from 1 to 3 bots at adjustable skill levels. The turn order is decided by a starting dice roll.
2
Dice
Roll & Move
On your turn, roll the dice and move that many spaces forward along the board. Once, near the start, you'll get a simple pick: take the Pipes or the Restaurant — then it's straight ahead again.
3
Board
Land & Trigger
Every space has an effect. Draw Event Cards, avoid Mousetraps, slip on Greasy Floor, or teleport through vents and manholes.
4
Finish
Collect 5 Cheese
Reach the Cheese Space in the Kitchen and you earn a piece — then loop right back to the start for another lap. First mouse to collect 5 cheese pieces wins instantly.

4 Zones, 1 Fork

You're making your way from the street to the cheese in a restaurant's kitchen. Cross the Street, then pick your way in — straight through the Restaurant, or the long way round through the Pipes if you'd rather avoid it. Either way, you end up in the Kitchen.

Street
Street
The starting ground. Traps, bonus spaces, and Shadow's first patrol — then a Branch space where you make your one pick: the longer Pipes, or the shorter Restaurant.
Pipes
Pipes
The longer route. Greasy floors and slippery stretches push you back, but a warm air current can boost you forward — and a Vent can drop you straight into the Restaurant.
Restaurant
Restaurant
The shorter route. Waiters shove you back, Shadow prowls here too, but a lucky Second Chance space can save a bad roll.
Kitchen
Kitchen
Both routes lead here. Grab a grape for a speed boost, then reach the Cheese Space at the end to bank a piece of cheese — and start your next lap from the beginning.

What Makes It Tick

Layers of mechanics that keep every game feeling different from the last.

Shadow
Shadow
Land on one of his spaces and Shadow the cat appears — roll again on the spot. Roll 1–3 and he sends you back; roll 4–6 and you slip past, moving forward that many spaces instead. The Shadow Nap event card can put him to sleep for a round.
Survival
Event Card
Event Cards
A deck of 20 cards that trigger on special spaces. Some help you (Cheese Power, Found Scrap, Shadow Nap), some hurt you (Caught, Dizzy, Spotted!), and some shake everyone up at once.
Random
Chaos Card
Chaos Mode
Enable Chaos Mode before the game starts and a Chaos Card triggers every round — affecting everyone. Double Dice, Turnabout, Shield Failure, Mehter March — anything can happen.
Unpredictable
Shield
Trash Lid Shield
Find a discarded trash lid and save it. Land on a Mousetrap, Shadow, Cat Footprints, or Narrow Street and you can use it to skip that effect — or use it right when you'd draw an Event Card, skipping the draw entirely. It's always a call you make beforehand, never after seeing what you got.
Strategy
Mousetrap
Veteran Mouse System
Land on the Mouse Trap three times and you've learned its tricks — you become a Veteran Mouse, permanently immune to the Mouse Trap for the rest of the game, with a badge to show for it.
Progression
Manhole
Manholes
Three manholes form a loop across the board — land on one and pop out the next, with the last one looping back to the first.

Common Questions

CheeseChase is built for 2–4 players. Right now you can play against 1–3 AI bots; local and online multiplayer with human players is coming soon.
Shadow is the resident cat, and he has two fixed spaces on the board — one in Street, one in Restaurant. Land on one and you roll again on the spot: 1–3 sends you back, 4–6 lets you dash forward that many spaces instead. Right after you run into one of his two cats, you can drag that cat to any empty space to set an ambush for the next mouse — each cat can be relocated once per round (so up to two relocations total), resetting back to his two default spaces at the end of every round. Separately, there's also a Shadow Nap event card: draw it and Shadow falls asleep for a round, making his spaces completely safe.
In Chaos Mode, a Chaos Card is drawn at the start of each round and its effect applies to all players for that round. This adds a board-wide unpredictable layer on top of the regular Event Card system. You decide whether to use it before the game starts — it makes for a wilder, less predictable experience.
Landing on the Mouse Trap space — or drawing the Hard Lesson event card — earns you Trap Experience. Land on the Mouse Trap 3 times and you become a Veteran Mouse, permanently immune to it for the rest of the game, with a badge to show for it. The Head Bump event card can cost you a point of Trap Experience, and if you're already a Veteran, it strips that status too.
